Cyprus Olympic Committee
The COC, a 30-year old, in 2008, Olympic Committee, is a relatively small one. However it is a very dynamic Olympic Committee and has gained recognition on an international level after significant its achievements and victories, which have also merited its role in the International Olympic Movement. The COC is one out of 205 Olympic Committees, which are very active today in the world. These committees are placed under the umbrella of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and indeed form the body of the International Olympic Movement. The International Olympic Movement develops Sports and the Olympic Ideals of peace, freedom and recognition of every persons' right to live in democracy. It rejects any kind of exclusion, racial or religious discrimination and inequality. It struggles for peace, friendship and co-operation among people. The COC is proud of participating in this Movement. The COC, as well as all the other Olympic Committees, focuses on youth and Sports as a means of educating young people.
