M. G. Timinis & Sons Ltd
he company was founded by Michael G. Timinis in 1933 dealing in general trade in Nicosia. In 1948 he decided to move into Famagusta, a fast expanding tourist resort. He opened the best shop in town specializing in men’s and ladies clothing but also selling the famous Cyprus lace. In 1969 the company was registered in its present form with the name M. G. Timinis & Sons Ltd. The business was growing in the years that followed resulting the company to expand with more stores. Two in Famagusta and one in Nicosia. The Turkish invasion in 1974 found the company at its best but the result of the invasion was catastrophic. The shops together with their stocks were lost. The stock of the Nicosia store was relocated to Famagusta for security reasons but eventually was lost there. The days and months that followed were very difficult for everybody especially for those who had lost their homes and businesses. Nevertheless the very high spirit and determination of the father together with the support of the sons helped the company to recover and progress through the years becoming the most important name in the branded clothing business in Cyprus. Today the company has shops Island Wide. Three in Nicosia, one in Limassol, Larnaca and Paphos respectively. The Flagship store of the company is located in Nicosia, the capital and largest town of Cyprus, storing men’s and ladies exclusive merchandise. In Limassol, the second largest town and major tourist resort in Cyprus, the store carries the same brands as the Nicosia store. There are immediate plans to establish a new multi floor store in Limassol at a very central location of the town in property owned by the company. Furthermore, there are plans to develop a new larger store in Paphos. This will be a 500 sq. meters outlet in a very prime location. It is worth to note that Paphos is the second largest tourist town of the country after Limassol.
